Ragging is a faux finish technique with fabric-like finish that can be subtle or dramatic. The walls are first prepared. A base coat is applied (typically latex paint). Many different types of material can be used as a tool for this technique - cheesecloth, burlap, plastic bags, chamois, terry cloth, etc. Different materials will create very different effects, so Finaltone is careful to use the same material throughout the project. Next, the rag is rumpled up (loosely) and dipped into a top coat of glaze or semi-gloss paint. The painted rag is dabbed on the wall (lightly).
